
What is a Chiropractor? Chiropractic Care is a complementary and alternative health care profession which focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, their effects on the nervous system and general health. Chiropractors believe that these misalignments, aka subluxations, interfere with the body’s self-regulating mechanisms via the nervous system resulting in bodily dysfunction.

Dr. Joseph P. Hornberger a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Life University (LU), has been practicing in Sarasota since 1986. He was selected by the Atlanta Chiropractic Sports Committee as one of thirty chiropractic physicians from a field of 350 applicants to treat the athletes at the 1996 Olympic Games.

Is acupuncture safe? The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved acupuncture for use by licensed practitioners in 1996. Few complications have been reported to the FDA in light of the millions of people treated each year. The Safety Record of acupuncture with minor adverse events such as local bruising being reported is about 0.1%, or 1 in 1000 treatments.

Dr. Morales has been practicing in Sarasota for over 7 years. He received his degree in Oriental Medicine from the East-West College of Natural Medicine. He later returned to the college as a member of their adjunct faculty where he taught Chinese herbal medicine and supervised the interns in the student clinic for four years. He has extensive training in acupuncture, herbal medicine, homeopathic and vitamin injections, guasha, and cupping. Dr. Morales is board certified both by Florida state and nationally.
